Crafting a User-Focused Interaction using Touchdesigner

My Interactive Design Playground

TouchDesigner is more than a tool — it’s a flexible, real-time canvas for interactive installations, multimedia experiences, and immersive environments.

I started with a LinkedIn Learning course, then dove into tutorials, forums, and community discussions. It wasn’t always smooth — TouchDesigner’s power comes with a steep learning curve, especially organizing and using external components. But its flexibility, small file sizes, and Kinect integration make it worth the effort.

Before Dell Bleu
Small projects sharpened my skills and confidence, each adding to my creative toolkit.

The Dell Bleu Project
An interactive ocean blending stunning visuals with Dell’s AI-powered environmental story. The biggest hurdle? Making the coral feel alive and seamlessly part of the seabed — a challenge that demanded equal parts technical precision and creative ingenuity.

Takeaway
From first steps to large-scale projects, TouchDesigner has been central to my growth as an interactive designer. The Dell Bleu project proved its power to turn ambitious ideas into immersive, user-focused experiences.

Art is solving problems that cannot be formulated before they have been solved. The shaping of the question is part of the answer.
